Trove's Slow Fashion Parade
Sunday May 16, 2–5pm
About this Event
Get ready for an afternoon of fun, fashion, food and music!
Featuring local designers and makers, the Trove Slow Fashion Parade will take over Trove Canberra's corner of Dickson on Sunday 16th May starting at 2pm!
On show are pieces from Trove's designers, Dissonance, Upstyled Threads and Wombat and Poss, as well as our fabulous jewellery designers. Our gorgeous neighbour Karan, from Karan's Kloset, will also be showing some of her fabulous fashion.
The afternoon will be educating our community about sustainability, making conscious fashion choices and giving people ideas and inspiration about how to make more sustainable choices in their wardrobe. This will be a fabulous chance to get together with people who care about the environment, who care about where their clothing comes from and who understand that how we dress, is part of who we are.
We will also have one fun and creative workshop for the children 10yrs and up. Our fashion illustration workshop will show participates how to complete a fashion illustration using drawing and collage, guided by Trove's resident artist Jennifer Baird from The Fifth Season. Spots are limited so make sure you book for this workshop. (Separate link)
It’s going to be fun and informative, inspiring and energising! Come along and bring YOUR magic to our event by being there!
While this is not the event we had planned at the beginning of last year, we are looking forward to sharing our love of sustainable fashion, tweaked a little to keep you safe during the current Covid restrictions. This will include using hand sanitiser and checking in on the app.
Do not attend Trove events if you are feeling unwell. This includes cold and flu-like symptoms like coughing or fever. Should you feel unwell we advise you to get tested at your nearest COVID-19 testing clinic. Information on the location of these in Canberra can be found on the ACT Health page.
This event is free for the public and has been put on with the support from the ACT Government under the City Renewal Authority's Dickson Grants program. This event will be a Covid safe event for all involved.
