Ceramic Echidna

Handmade ceramic echidnas. Each echidna is hand scuplted from Keanes Dark Matter stoneware clay then features such as quills made from individual coils, rolled and attached one by one. Each echidna has its features scuplted and is decorated with incising, and handpainted using underglazes to highlight the quills.

The echidnas have been kiln fired to 1200 degrees and the colours fused with the clay and can tolerate any weather if put outside and will look just as good inside.

Small and Medium size-(approx 12 cm to 14cm) after making the body of the echidna each individual quill is formed and attached. The medium echidnas are BRT clay painted with yellow (on quills) and black underglazes/gloss glaze.

Small/Tiny-Raku clay finished with underglazes. The ones in stock are a light brown clay not white as pictured.
