Ben Kendon Ceramics

Ben Kendon has been potting in the Canberra since 1992 learning his craft through the ACT Potter’s Society, miscellaneous classes/workshops attended in Melbourne, Katoomba and Philadelphia, USA.

In 2001 after 2.5 years in the beautiful Katoomba he returned to Canberra to undertake a Diploma in Ceramics course on a part-time basis through the School of Art at the Australian National University. The course allowed him to meet and learn from both local and international ceramic artists.

Since graduating in 2004 he has participated in two group exhibitions in the ACT and has participated in the Annual Exhibition at the Potter’s Society in Watson ACT.

In recent years he has developed his Studio where he lives in with his family and very important three cats in O’Connor ACT.

Ben is intrigued and is inspired by the ‘Studio Pottery’ genre and actively seeks to incorporate natures’ and the human form into his work. His forms, functional, contemplative and playful welcome an array of rich coloured glazes brought to life through firing process in a flame filled gas or wood fueled reducing atmosphere.

Ben has a background in Geology and works as an Environmental Consultant.
